Emotional Wellbeing – Jenby’s in Schools

At All Saints’ School we believe that children’s emotional and mental health is equally as important as their physical health. It is our aim to equip all our children with understanding, knowledge and tools to look after their emotional health. We can all be a part of this important aspect of our children’s development, from our smallest children to our Year 6’s.

We are lucky to be working in collaboration with Dr Natalie Jewitt who is a chartered clinical psychologist at Jenby’s, specialising in children.

Two, fully trained facilitators in school will provide sessions to children throughout the year. We run two groups: ‘Understanding our Emotions’ and ‘Anxiety and Worry’.

These 6 week workshops have been devised by Dr Natalie Jewitt. They are tailored specifically for children. Each group is full of fun activities to help them learn more about their thoughts, feelings and behaviours whilst equipping and empowering them with tools to manage big emotions.

An online parental workshop is available to access throughout the running of the Jenby’s in Schools group. This will give you a brief summary of what your child will be covering each week. There will also be some simple home tasks to complete. Children are so proud to share this with each other and it has been lovely to see the wonderful support they get from home.

The feedback from children has been largely positive. We value their opinions so we can continue to improve the sessions, keeping them fun and accessible.

I think Jenby’s is happy, joyful and fun.

I liked teddy breathing.

We learned different ways of dealing with our feelings.

I loved star breathing and calming stones.

You know you’re not the only one. It was good to share our feelings.

Calm box. Yay!

Sometimes you feel you can’t tell anyone but it helps to get your worries out of you.

I have really enjoyed being part of the group.

Our aim is that every child in school will be able to access the groups during their time at our school.

Please feel free to contact school if you would like more information.
