Dear Parents,

Classes 2B, 2H and 2KS

Theme – Medieval Life

This half term’s theme links together the following areas:

  • Science- Materials; properties of
  • Geography – Castles within the UK
  • Art – Paul Klee; Castle in the sun
  • Design Technology – Design and make a castle in a shoe box
  • RE – Special Days/Pentecost/The Easter Story
  • ICT – Simple Programming / research
  • Music – Pulse and Rhythm using instruments
  • PE – Dance

P.E reminder

The children will need a named PE kit including pumps.  We are seeing many other colours of P.E. kit being worn please could you ensure your child is wearing black shorts or tracksuit bottoms/leggings, white t-shirt and school sweatshirt.

Key Stage 1 maths homework

Thank you for supporting your child with their homework.  Many children seem to be enjoying it.   Just to remind you it maybe in the form of an online activity or a piece of written homework.  Please check reading diaries on Friday for online instructions.  Written sheets will be in their reading folders.  Feel free to write on their sheets if there were any difficulties or misunderstandings.  Maths homework to be completed by the following Wednesday.

Topic: DT challenge and Medieval Day

On Friday 7th April, we are having a Medieval Day. Children can come dressed in Medieval clothes. We will be designing and making a shoe box castle.  Children can start collecting resources at home ready for the big build.  Any spare shoe boxes will be gratefully received.

School visit

We are taking the children to Skipton Castle on Monday 27th March. A letter will follow shortly.
