Governor Bios

Kathryn Allen – Foundation Governor

Mrs K Allen

I have been a Governor for All Saints’ longer than I care to remember (though I am not the longest serving member!)  My 3 children (youngest now 26) all benefited from an All Saints’ education and I am pleased to be able to serve the school in this way to give something back. As a Foundation Governor, I am there as a church representative, so it is also a role of service to the church & God. It is a privilege to be part of a school where the Christian faith is so much at the heart of everything

Karen Balmer – Staff Governor, Deputy Head

Patrick Bateman – Foundation Governor, Vicar of All Saints’ Church, Ilkley

Rev P Bateman

My connection with All Saints’ School comes with the job of Vicar but am delighted to serve as a Foundation Governor. This role takes me into school reasonably regularly. I think that there are huge parallels overseeing my church and with the role of school governor. It is vital in both church and school communities to have a clear purpose and vision.  All Saints’ School’s primary purpose is obviously as a place of learning. I see that one of my roles is to promote and enhance the Christian ethos of the school in a way that ensures that all members of this learning community flourish.

Katie Dawson – Parent Governor

As a parent to a pupil in the Foundation year, I have a genuine interest in how the school is run and governed. I have a wealth of experience in business and 5 years’ experience working as an insurance broker, providing insurance solutions specifically to schools. It is a privilege to have been offered the opportunity to join the Governing Board and I hope that my experience will have a positive impact on the school.

Michele Robinson – Head Teacher

Belinda Seth – Local Authority Governor

Mrs B Seth

I volunteered to become a Governor while my twins were small, as a way to gain insight into an education system we would soon become part of. It is inspiring to work alongside skilled, caring and dedicated Governor colleagues, and interesting to apply my own financial and operational management experience within a very different context. I recognise that being on the Governing Board is a privilege and a responsibility and am committed to ensuring that, whatever the prevailing political climate, All Saints’ pupils of today and tomorrow continue to thrive to the best of their potential, while we navigate through challenging and exciting times ahead.

Carol Stewart – Co-opted Governor

I’ve been involved in All Saints’ school since my children were pupils here in the 80s. Married to Peter and previously a Parent and then Foundation Governor. I sit on the LTPS committee and am the named Governor for Special Educational Needs & Disability and Child Protection.  I have a life-long interest in education, being formerly a teacher and also involved in church-based youth work and residentials most of my life, and particularly interested in the pastoral side of school life. As the school gardener I appreciate the need for good groundwork! I am a member and regular worshipper at All Saints’ Church.

Felicity Tomblin – Parent Governor

Mrs F Tomblin

Being a parent is a huge privilege, having your children educated at a school you are proud of is fantastic.

My skills in sales, marketing and logistics complement the other Governors’ and we ensure that All Saints’ remains a school that achieves great results for all its pupils. This is a challenge that I love.

I like to get involved and our children’s time at school is one of the most important moments in their formative lives. I am fortunate to be able to be a part of that!

Paul Vollans

I have spent all my working life journeying with adolescents and adults – as teacher, trainer, mentor and counsellor – as well as being engaged in their safety and protection.  I am committed to life-long learning and value greatly the opportunity to serve as a Governor.  I look forward to working with the Headteacher and Staff, and contributing to the support and encouragement of all the youngsters as they progress in their learning and personal development within the Christian ethos of the school.

Bryan Websdale – Co-opted Governor

Mr B Websdale

A father of three children, two of whom have left All Saints’ and one still happily attending. I wanted to be a Governor in order to try and help the school develop and progress positively.

I am very proud that All Saints’ is an inclusive and forward-thinking school however I am very aware that there is much work to be done in order to maintain its Outstanding Status. I am committed to ensuring All Saints’ continues to be a safe and happy learning environment for children long into the future.
